We were missing the snow and decided to plan a trip right after Christmas to visit our families up North. The Friday after Christmas, Landon got off work around 2 and we made the drive. We got to the Marriott downtown around 10 pm, and crashed.
DAY 1:
Saturday morning, we woke up and walked to this cute Cafe in downtown Salt Lake for breakfast, then went and met up with my dad, his girlfriend Mitzi, her son Ashton, and my little brother and sister for some sledding. It was intense. My sweet husband went off the jump with Drayden, only to hit the ditch at the bottom and mess up his back :( I felt so horrible. He was such a champ about it though. We went to have lunch and meet up with my Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Tim, and have the kiddos open their presents from us. After lunch with them, we went back to the hotel, took a power nap, and a shower, and got ready for a wedding. Landons old mission companion/ best friend (Matt Landon) got married that Saturday, and we were so excited to see them, and be there for the wedding! We love these two so much, and are so happy to see them both so happy! It was so beautiful! It was also awesome to meet more of Landon's old mission companions and here stories about good ol New Mexico.
DAY 2:
Sunday morning, we woke up, ordered room service, and headed out to my grandparents cemetery. I was super upset when we go there. Only like half of the headstones were scrapped off... so I couldn't see where theirs was. I cried. It made me so sad. So, after searching, and TRYING to dig in the snow (that was basically ice) I drew an "S" around where they were and put the flowers down, and then we drove to Landons old house by Brighton (its a tradition that we do haha). We then went to meet up with my side of the family at Murray Park to do family pictures. Never have we EVER had the full family available for pictures. It was so much fun! After fam pictures, we went to Landon's Aunts house where Landon's mom made us all dinner, and we were able to see his other sister, and our niece and nephew. We laughed, and reminisced about Landon and Brittany's childhood days. Once we got back to the hotel, we thought it would be a good idea to walk over to Temple Square and look at the Temple lights. It was beautiful, and it was FREEZING, and we stayed long enough to get a pic and then walked back to the hotel, got snuggled up, and rented a movie.
Such a stud
