Twine Light

So... Once upon a time I had this blog allll drafted out... I just needed to add a few more sentences, then BAM! It was gone. Just like that. Lame. So, here it is, a little over due, but here nonetheless.

I got this idea from a friend of mine. He had done something similar for his house, and Landon and I thought, we would try it too. All in all, our dining room twine light fixture was a little under $100.00. Now keep in mind- we choae to do a 3 light fixture, you can pick to do a one light fixture, completely up to you. Obviously cater to what you want.

What you need....

1.Punch Balloons (or something that will hold a round figure, that you are able to pop).
These were $2.00 in the party section at Target. We also got regular balloons because we weren't sure if the punch balloons would work, they did, so the balloons went unused.
2.Twine. We bought this roll of 550 yards for $7.00 from Lowes. We hardly used it. So you could actually get the smaller rolls for $4.00.
3.Elmers Glue. We bought two of these for $1.79 each at Target. We could've used 3, but two worked.
4.Spray Paint. We needed 2 of these for $3.49 each at Lowes. We picked white, but you can pick whatever XOR you want.
5.Light Bulbs. We picked these vintage looking light bulbs from Lowes for  $7.00 each. You obviously don't need to purchase these, they're just the ones we wanted. And we needed 3 for pit light fixture.
6. (Not Pictured Above) Three Light Light Fixture. We got ours from Lowes for $50.00.

STEPS:

Step 1. Blow up balloons (or balloon) to the size(s) you want.

Step 2. Wrap twine around the balloons. This was easiest with 2 people.

Step 3. Put Elmer's Glue around the twine to have it hold the shape. Let it dry for about 2 hours.

Step 4. After. It dries pop the balloons. They should look like this.

Step 5. Spray paint, and let dry.

Step 6. Hang your light fixture. Shut off electricity, and follow the instructions that came with your light. Landon did this part, obviously, so he knew what he was doing haha

Step 7. Cut holes in the ball JUST big enough to put the light through, then hot glue to balls to the fixture.

Then VIOLA!!!
