8/8/09: Camping :)

This past Wednesday we decided to take a camping trip... (first one of the season). We loaded up ALLL of our gear, including our new 3 man tent, new camping chairs, and new tent pads, and headed up Kyle Canyon. Little did we know that we literally lived 20 minutes away from the camp site... needless to say, we will be camping there a lot due to the closeness.

We got there and set up camp. This was LuLu's 1st experience of the outdoors really altogether so it was fun to watch her venture off (and get COMPLETELY dirty!).

After we set everything up it was about dinner time. We had prepared some tin foil dinners to eat that had hamburger mixed with potatoes and carrots and onions.... it was DELICIOUS.
I took a little nap after dinner (since i worked graveyard the night before I was a little tired) so Landon and LuLu went on a hike and played outside.

When I woke up we made s'mores. mmmm.. I don't care who you are, or what you say s'mores are THE BEST PART OF CAMPING! They we SOO good! Landon is a s'more KING!

We went to sleep, and got woken up at a ripe 5:30am because LuLu had to go to potty. haha
After we let her out we slept in till 9, and had an AMAZING tin foil breakfast that my wonderful husband cooked up (love him).

On our 2nd day camping there was a HUGE forest fire a little bit further up the canyon, so of course we did what anyone would of done... we took a little drive up. We couldn't get close enough to see the fire but we got really close to the smoke... and there was a lot! haha.

After our drive, when we got back to camp I had a message on my phone reminding me that LuLu had a doc appointment Friday morning... since we didn't want to wake up and have to rush and pack everything up we decided to call it a night and came home Thursday night instead.

I love camping, I do...but there is NOTHING like the comfort of your own bed, in your own home :)

I love being up in the mountains... it really gives you time to think... and all I thought about was how blessed I am to have what I have in my life. Landon and I have been married for almost 1 year... that is unreal to me, I love it! Its really amazing to have your best friend there to go on adventures with, and to grow with and learn new things with. I couldn't have asked for a more AMAZING husband. He is my entire universe, and to have a life of memories and experiences with him is soo surreal. He is my eternal companion, and i KNOW i will never go a single day without him by my side. I love you Landon :)
