This was the first Labor Day weekend that Landon and I have had off together. We wanted to do something that we havent done all year, and that was camping. I searched for a campsite not to far away, with trees and water. I called everywhere, and NO where was taking reservations. With it being Labor Day, I wanted to reserve a campsite so we wouldnt have to risk not having one. I found a place in St. George called Sand Hollow. There was a little man made lake- and I could reserve a camp site. I booked it and we went.
When we got there, I was sad to see NO trees... who camps with no trees?! We were fine, we set up camp and went to the water with the pups, the ran around in the water and Landon and I talked about new goals that we want to set.
After the sun went down we went back to the campsite- roasted hot dogs- and star gazed. We were going to sleep- but Landon and I couldnt sleep... it was soo hot! We woke up the next morning (after about 3 hours of sleep) and started the fire up to make our tin foil breakfasts While they were cooking, Landon was digging his feet in the sand one moment and the next he said "I just got stung by a scorpion!" I started to panic- googling "what to do if you get stung by a scorpion". Luckily, it wasnt a poisonious scorpion.. about 5 minutes later.. LuLu started freaking out, throwing a temper tantrum all over the campsite, biting her back foot, and limping. Great. She got bit by red ants.. there were millions of them all over the place! We washed off her foot, and packed up and left. All in all the camping part wasnt too horrible, it was the stinging and red ants that were horrible.
Needless to say, the next time we camp... it will be with trees in a mountain, so it cools downs, and there arent as many red ants or scorpions.
The End
