8/8/09: Ever So Sweet...

So, Landon has this favorte band- The Early Novemeber. Hes LOVED them for 11 years. But there was 1 problem.. he had never EVER seen them in concert, crazy right? So they broke up a long time ago, but the lead singer, Ace Enders, continued to make music solo, and all of Ace's music has become a staple in our marriage.

A few months back they announced that they would be making one more CD, and would be going on tour. You best BELIEVE I bought this man tickets to see them. The closest they were playing to us was in San Diego (rough life?). I invited Landon's little brother Jace, and my cousin Tabi, to join us on this road trip, but I wanted it to be a surprise for Landon. Day of the trip out to San D, Landon came home and Jace and Tabi were waiting. We loaded up the car and left to Cali.

We got to our hotel a little past 11:30, got all cozied up and went to bed. On Saturday morning we woke up and went to this little breakfast diner, ate, then headed to the beach. We brought LuLu with us on this trip (Milo recently had a little injury and had to have a sleepover at the vet- the doctor didnt want him to further injure his leg on the beach, so we took his advice :)). Our first stop was Ocean Dog Beach , where Lu made friends with a Rottwieler and swam in the water. After a few hours of that, she was getting tired, so we took her back to the hotel to rest (she fell RIGHT asleep in the comfort of her little doggy bed). After we dropped her off, we went and rented wet suits, and boogie boards and headed for the beach. Landon and I boogie boarded for 2 hours! It was amazing.

That night was the night of the concert. We stayed at a hotel that was right across the street from the arena where TEN was playing, so we walked. We decided to walk around the back way of the building because it seemed shorter. As we were walking down this ally, I looked at a window and saw a very fimiliar man... I turned to Landon and said "Look! Its him!" Landon's eyes lit up like a little kids on Christmas. Ace was on the phone when Jace mouthed "can we take a picture with you?" and Ace said YES!! So we took a handful of pictures with Landons FAVORITE musician. Bucketlist goal : COMPLETE.

We enjoyes all 5 bands that played, Tabi and I crowd surfed to a few songs, then The Early Novemeber came on stage, and it was the most amazing concert ive ever been to! Saturday night after the concert we also had a bonfire on the beach... i dont have pictures of that because I was cold, tired, and a little grumpy... it happens.

Sunday, we woke up around 1030 and left Cali at 11. It was such an AWESOME, perfect little vacation!
