I remember when I was younger I was SOOO excited for Christmas, and it took FOREVER to come, now you hardly blink an eye and its here... Im not complaining... I am still SOOO excited for Christmas! Its easily my favorite holiday. The lights, the smell, the clothes, the movies, the hot chocolate, and of course the snugs.
This past weekend we went and got ALL of our Christmas shopping done, presents wrapped, and ready to be sent off (to Utah and Georgia)... and we also went and picked out our Christmas Tree, and decorated it! This year Jace got to decorate it with us, first Christmas at home in 2 years... cray cray.
I cannot express how much fun it is to start your own traditions as your own little family. Landon and I are still in the beginning stages of our family, but I love that we are starting traditions in our own home. Growing up some of the traditions we had were, a little baby 3 ft. Christmas tree on a table that my Grandma and Grandpa Seely got from England on their LDS mission years and years ago... with the most cute (yet sort of tacky) Christmas ornaments... we also had the typical "Christmas Eve." pjs that my Grandpa Lopez got us every year. I loved leaving cookies, milk, and dry oatmeal for Santa and the Reindeer to have as a treat, then waking up to find them partially eaten, oatmeal gone with a very nice hand written note thanking us for the cookies and milk, and that "Rudolph said thank you for the oatmeal" (written by my grandpa)... Christmas has always been such a magical holiday, and I seriously cannot wait to have little kiddos of our own to do "Elf on a Shelf" and sneak and put presents under the tree for.
All of our presents ready to be sent off.
