The Vet...

Last Saturday Landon and I had a scare with little Milo.

He had been throwing up all day, and it began to worry us when he was acting lethargic. We called the vet to ask if it could of been a reaction to the shot he had got the previous day... he said he couldnt be sure, but to bring him in right away. I had to go to work so Landon took Milo to the vet, they took an xray of his belly and said he had a gas bubble that was causing him to vomit. With him throwing up he had been loosing all the water he had been drinking, and it was causing him to get dehydrated, and his blood sugar to drop, (if you know about poms, you know that when their blood sugar drops it can be fatal if not discovered in time, and with him weighing in at a whopping 1lb 4oz it could be deadly VERY fast.) his blood sugar was in the normal range but on the lower side of the normal range, if we wouldve let him continue to throw up all evening, who knows what could of happened.

Dr. Jones gave Milo a hydration shot that was supposed to keep his skin hydrated and also some kyro syrup (we asked if nutra cal worked and he said its to thick for his little mouth) to keep his blood sugar from dropping into the fatal range, and to give that to him every 2hours.

On Sunday he was acting fine :) playful happy puppy, but was still burping reallyy gas-ey (?) burps...

On Monday I had realized he was back to not being playful, but he had been eating and drinking and I had been giving him his Kyro syrup, but he was still throwing up a little and burping lots... Landon had the idea that it was the food, (he was eating pedigree little champs soft food, his mouth and teeth are still too little for hard food) we had fed LuLu Cesars puppy soft food and that worked fine... we had read some reviews for the pedigree food, and a lot of people had said it made their puppies sick, so I did a quick Smiths trip for some Cesars, and we gave that to him, and now he is back to normal. No burps, no upset tummy :) just happy Milo. Dr. Jones called me today to see how he was and I explained all that had happened and he said that the soft dog food is perfect for him, and we did the right thing by changing his food since his belly was upset... Thanks Doc... youdaman.

SO, if youre reading this and you have a puppy that cant eat hard food... STAY AWAY FROM PEDIGREE... I dont trust it at all...

The.End.
