Sorry I haven't posted in a good while, haven't really had time. :s... Buttt here's whats been happening.
Last Thursday I decided to surprise Landon with a yummy meal... Now I haven't cooked a full out meal in a while, nor have I EVER cooked what i decided to cook. Smiths had a really good sale going on with Salmon.... 4.99 a lb.. SO good, i had heard about it from my friend Charlene at work, so I couldn't pass it up since we both LOVE fish!
I bought it. A fillet of it.
On my way home from running my errands, going to the post office, store, petsmart, i decided to swing by puppa staggs house (Landon's PERFECT dad) and say hello and see hows hes been since he just came back from Colorado. i hung out and chit chatted it up with him for a few hours... (i love puppa... ALWAYS has the best things to say!) and i had to ask him... how in the world do i make salmon?? since puppa loves to cook he gave me a couple examples. That i eventually took and used.
So I got home, CLEANED the ENTIRE apartment (it needed it, and plus who doesn't like to come home to a spotless home? right), finished laundry... and then started dinner.
I decided to put oil in the pan and fry it that way. The 1st half of the salmon failed... it wasn't what I wanted so i put it aside to see if that's how it was supposed to look while I cooked the second half. (thank goodness a fillet could feed 4 people) i cooked the second half and it looked sooo much better than the first... so i threw the first half away. I also sauteed some yummy asparagus (also one of mine and Landon's favs) and we had some Italian salad, and lemon slices on the side to squirt on your salmon ... annndd I decided to pick up some sparkling cider just because its good... and fun :). Strangely enough ( this NEVER happens) I had everything end at the exact same time, and just as i finished putting it all on the plates and organizing it so it looked perfect my hardworking husband (*swoon*) walked through the door :) he was very surprised to say the least. It was perfect!! Just as I planned. I love and live for these moments.
Its really amazing how one person can make your life complete. The way Landon has done to mine.
Like Ive said since the 1st day Ive met him. He is and always will be my BFF.
I <3 LJS. Moving on. Last Saturday we also went on a little adventure to find some modern or contemporary art. I had heard of this hotel liquidation store. (when hotels remodel they send all of their old stuff to this store). I had thought there would be a possibility of finding some kind of art that a hotel had switched out. When we got there. there. was. NOTHING! bahaha it was the funniest thing ever. It basically felt (and smelled)like a GIANT yard sale from 1960... ya, not my cup of tea. Landon and I humored ourselves, walking up and down the... uh.... isles? and laughed and laughed, and then found nothing (obvi) so we went to the car whipped out the blackberrys and started googling. We found a store called M Modern Art. It was located at 101 e. Charleston.... for those of you who know Las Vegas... this is kind of a weird very FAR east area... like past the Fremont Street Experience. We pull up, and there is literally at least 20 different museums. We only had time to swing by a few since we still had to go home and get my work clothes and i had to go to work, but what we saw was amazing!!! expensive... but AMAZING! and a really neat experience to say the least. This area was called 'The Art District'. They have this thing called 1st Friday (1st Friday of every month) and they have HUGE festivals down on this road they block it all off, have booths, and concerts... needless to say i need to take a Friday off and go explore. They also have a 3rd Thursday, sort of the same thing minus the road blocking off, and minus HUGE concerts. Its a more intimate feel. Each individual museum has a opening type of thing where they spotlight the new artist coming in to show their work for the month. Like 1st Friday. I NEED to go check this ish out! So Landon and I will be going and ill post :) NEXT:::: This next weekend we will be going camping! CANT WAIT! but I don't want to post too much about that now, ill wait till we get back on Friday!! word. NEXT:::: July 7th.... two things will be happening... LuLu gets X-rays.. (hopefully she can get her cast off!!!!) and my niece.. little miss Genesis is coming to spend 5 days with Landon and I. :) So exciting. We are planning on taking her to see the Las Vegas 51's game vs. the Salt Lake City Buzz... (SLCs minor league team:)). We've wanted to go so bad, so why not take GiGi... No worries.. ill make a post :) Well.. That's life as we know it lately... i need to go take our crazy puppy to get her cast changed now! Ill post soon! Promise!!!!
